چکیده

Between 1964 and 1971, 49 patients were discharged from hospital following atrial baffle repair for transposition of the great arteries. Electrocardiograms of 47 of these patients were available for review seven months to eight and a half years (average 31 months) after operation. Of the 46 patients in sinus rhythm prior to operation, 40 (87%) were in sinus rhythm with normal atrioventricular conduction when last seen. Four patients (8.7%) had benign supraventricular dysrhythmias: three were junctional, one was atrial. None was noted to experience rapid dysrhythmias. Two patients showed evidence of abnormal atrioventricular conduction.

Late Atrio-ventricular Block After Arterial Switch for D-transposition of the Great Vessels With Intact Interventricular Septum

Arterial switch operation for transposition of the great arteries without ventricular septal defect usually does not lead to atrio-ventricular conduction disturbances. We discuss the case of a young boy presenting with first and second degree supra hisian atrio-ventricular block late after switch operation.

Catheter interruption of atrioventricular conduction using radiofrequency energy in a patient with transposition of the great arteries.

Percutaneous catheter mapping and radiofrequency ablation of the AV node-His bundle system (with subsequent transvenous endocardial ventricular pacing) were performed on an 18-year-old woman with transposition of the great arteries and intact ventricular septum and chronic arrhythmias 15 years following a Mustard operation. Exclusion of the AV conduction tissue from the systemic venous circulat...

Use of cardiac pacing after the Mustard operation for transposition of the great arteries.

The most frequent complication of the venous redirection (Mustard or Senning) operation for transposition of the great arteries is cardiac arrhythmia. Drug treatment of tachyarrhythmia often worsens bradyarrhythmia. Pacemakers can now treat both arrhythmias. The technique for implantation of pacemakers after redirection for transposition has changed over time from thoracotomy to subxiphoid to t...
